Winslow Show Donations
The Winslow Show is about a fun day out for everyone and about giving something back to the community.
The Show traditionally donates surplus proceeds to local charities and other worthy community causes, helping them continue their good work for the benefit of young and old. Many groups who take part also benefit e.g. the scouts who help with the horse show.
Over the years, Show donations have benefited a wide range of well known organisations such as Age Concern, Cancer Research, Mencap and the Scouts; plus smaller local organisations such as adult day care centres, hospices for the terminally ill, local air ambulance, pet rescue, pre-school playgroups and riding for the disabled.
Donations are normally distributed to receiving organisations at a presentation evening held each November at The Bell Hotel Winslow.
AGM Treasurer’s Report Excerpt - 2011 Show
This year's Show raised £14,000 which was distributed to some 40 local good causes on Monday 28th November at the Bell Hotel. The Show also helped other organisations raise even more funds on their show stalls for the benefit of their own charities.
