Call for Competition Entrants

Winslow Show,
one of Buckinghamshire's premier country shows, will take place on Monday 25th
August 2008, between 9.00am and 5.00pm at Home Close in Winslow.
The Show brings
together town and local farming communities with show jumping, gymkhana,
livestock shows, music, dog shows, country crafts, food, competitions and
children's entertainment.
With only three
weeks to go the show organisers are putting together the final details of the
fun-filled event and calling for all competitors to pit themselves against
Buckinghamshire's finest show jumpers, dog-handlers, classic and vintage car
enthusiasts and livestock demonstrators.
You can enter
the tug of war challenge run by the Young Farmers, show your dog in cutest pup
or waggiest tail competition or, whatever your age, enter this year's
fancydress parade themed on the Olympics.
This year the
show will include local celebrity Ted Clydesdale, a 17.2hh rare breed heavy
horse and popular children's book character. Families can meet Ted at the show
and listen to his adventures as told by his handler.
The 2008 Show will include:
l Equestrian competitions in the main
ring
l Livestock classes
l Craft Marquee
l Dog show including agility
demonstration, pedigree and novelty classes
l Entertainment, featuring Winslow
Concert Band, Punch and Judy, Magic Martin the Magician and much more.
l Children's funfair
l Stalls
l Beer tent, food and refreshments

Admission to
the showground is £2.50/adult, £1.50 concessions and 50p for children. All
funds raised at the show are distributed to local charities. Last year saw £12,000
donated to a variety of local charities.
