Get Set For An Awesome August Bank Holiday

Winslow Show provides a fantastic day of family fun and traditional country entertainments whilst raising money for vital local charities. Taking place on August Bank Holiday Monday (27 August 2016) it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the end of the summer holidays with all your family and friends.


With over 80 stalls, a crafts marquee, competitions, home-made refreshments, country pursuits, beer tent and many groups fundraising for local good causes – Winslow Show always offers a great day of fabulous entertainment for all ages.


Watch or take part in its popular horse show and show jumping or enter your dog in one of the pedigree or novelty dog show classes. Whether you have a posh pooch or a lovable scruffy mutt the Show’s dog show, held under Kennel Club rules and regulations, is sure to have a competition class that’s perfect for your dog.


The livestock show, organised by the Edgecott and Winslow Young Farmers, run sheep and grain competitions. For a chance to meet the sheep and chat to local famers visit the agricultural display area.


There’s a wide variety of artists and artisan crafts to admire or you can try your luck at fairground games and enjoy live music from Woburn Swing Band.


Highlights of the day include:

  • Children’s funfair and entertainer
  • Vintage and classic car & tractor display
  • Beer tent
  • Livestock, hay and grain classes
  • On Target archery and axe throwing!
  • Hog roast & BBQ
  • Young farmers’ display


The show is organised by volunteers from Winslow Show Association with valuable support from Winslow Lions Club, Winslow Rotary Club, Buckingham and Winslow District Scouts and Edgcott & Winslow Young Farmers.  All funds raised are distributed to local charities.


Commenting on this year’s Show Dean White, Chair of Winslow Show Association, said: “Whether you take part, come to enjoy all the entertainment or just want a slice of home-made cake in the tea tent with friends – the Show aims to provide activities that all can enjoy. Each year thousands of people have a great day out and help their local community to raise funds for vital charities.”


Admission is £3/adult, £2/concessions, £1/children
